Authentic Mexican 100% Nylon Mesh Hammock
The story behind this hammock is a little unusual. A new craftsman who had been commissioned to weave our Queen Maya XXL "Alebrije" model apologized for his mistake, explaining that he hadn't respected the model's color code. Embarrassed, he sent us some photos. Imagine his surprise to learn that he had unwittingly participated in the creation of a new model: the Queen Maya XXL "Alebrije 2".

The Mexican Maya XXL "Alebrije 2" Hammock: A treasure trove of Mexican craftsmanship
If you're looking for a truly exceptional hammock, you've come to the right place! Made with an exceptional weaving technique and featuring spectacular colors, this durable Mexican hammock stands out for its absolute comfort, but it's much more than that. It's the fruit of centuries of Mexican craftsmanship and Latin American hammock tradition.
Cultural heritage woven into every thread
What makes the QUEEN MAYA unique are its woven net arms. Skillfully woven, handcrafted fasteners make them not only visually captivating, but also incredibly durable. Each QUEEN MAYA hammock takes between ten and fifteen days of meticulous work, reflecting our craftsmen's commitment to perpetuating an ancient art.
An extra-comfortable XXL hammock
With an impressive width of 2m20, this hammock offers generous space to stretch out lengthwise or widthwise. Designed to comfortably accommodate 2-3 people, the QUEEN MAYA is reinforced with an extra amount of thread in its fabric, making the hammock bed even softer and adaptable to a variety of situations. Its larger size also allows for a wider palette of colors, to suit all tastes.

Mexican craftsmanship in every stitch
Our Mexican hammocks, like the QUEEN MAYA, are the fruit of centuries of tradition. Handcrafted in the Chiapas region of southern Mexico, they are the result of the hard work of four families of artisans. This ancestral technique has been handed down from generation to generation, and is steeped in the region's history. In the past, the state of Chiapas was a production area for Ixtle and Henequen, plants that were used to make the first hammocks.
Uncompromising durability with 100% Nylon
The QUEEN MAYA is made from 100% nylon, the same material used to make fishing nets. This means it can withstand extreme weather conditions, whether frost, rain or sun, making it the ideal choice for year-round outdoor use. Although sturdy, we recommend storing it under cover after use to ensure its longevity.
The Mexican nylon hammock: the best companion for European summers
For many Europeans, the Mexican Nylon Hammock is the essential choice for summer. Unlike cotton, which can deteriorate under the prolonged effects of sun and rain, nylon offers greater durability while maintaining a virtually identical level of comfort. In southern Mexico, where temperatures are hot almost all year round, the hammock is used on a daily basis as an alternative to the bed, thanks to the air circulation offered by its net, a perfect solution against the heat. Distance between floor and hammock
This is a recurring question from our customers. Indeed, the height of the hammock is also a crucial factor in ensuring comfortable use. A recommended height is generally around 50 cm empty, between the floor and the bottom of the hammock. This allows you to get in and out of the hammock with elegance and ease. The Mexican hammock: A stretch net hammock
Don't forget that when you lie inside the hammock, it can stretch by around 15 cm. This will also depend on the fabric used, the elasticity of the ropes and, of course, your weight. So it's essential to take this into account when setting up your hammock. Find out more : 5 good reasons to choose a Mexican hammock
Did you know?
Although some homes are modernizing and starting to change, traditional homes have always been full of hammocks: in the living room, in the bedrooms, on the terrace, in the garage, even in the kitchen. Mexicans are wont to say that they never really know where they might want to take a nap, or who might turn up unexpectedly.
As you can see, "Ce croissant pour dormir", as a Mexican poet once sang, is an essential piece of furniture in any self-respecting traditional Mexican home.
